- If you were a super hero – which would you be?
Black Panther.
- Why?
Proficiency in science, use of advanced wakanda type of technology 🙅🏾♂️
- Wakanda forever!
Indeed bruv!
- How did you come to Sweden?
I came to Sweden for my Master's, on scholarship from the Swedish Institute. It was my 3rd time applying for it, and finally got it.
I was taken by how organized the universities are and how they put in so much effort to make international students welcome! I also fell in love with Sweden from the very first step. It’s so organized and beautiful.
- What do you love about Sweden?
The innovation and technology.
Also enjoying the nature and experiencing the sustainable way of everyday living.
What’s your core talent?
Cyber threat management.
- What’s your Real talent?
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Marvin had to leave Sweden due to a minor mistake made by his employer - they didn't post his job advertisement long enough on the official website.
This is why we built Annons Assistant for Real People - to check if their job advertisement complies with the law. Try it: here
Marvin is back and handles data security for Real People!
- You were in one of the biggest newspapers in Sweden coming out with your case, was that hard as someone who works with Cyber Security?
- It was super hard from many angles. I am a very public-media-and-news shy person. The possibility of my face going on the internet forever was a weird prospect for me.
What made it easy, after so many deliberations, was talking to people like Matt and Ali (both co-founders of Real People), as well as a few other kompetensutvisning survivors whose stories had been published. The focus for me was that if I was going to go to the media, it would help.
I had a bit of fear and skepticism in the beginning. But the support and reach my article had was so positive and overwhelming!
I even received handwritten letters from people writing to me and offering me support and strength, and telling me most were against kompetensutvisning.
I was glad I did it. Also, I think many professionals affected or not, ended up appreciating my courage for bringing this problem out for debate at such a level and most important: small mistakes or human mistakes must not lead to kompetensutvsining.
So what do you do for Real People?
The core of what I do for Real People is to be the main advisor with regard to how we handle our members' personal data. This is everything including the various platforms we use for surveys, questionnaires, forms, emails, to how the team at Real People accesses and processes that information. As most are aware, Real People works with professionals by hearing from them, and this involves collecting certain data about them.
My roles ensures that we do this within the legal boundaries of data privacy as set out within various regulatory and compliance requirements. My hope is to one day expand on this as Real People grows, and security considerations begin to broaden.

- Why did you join Real People in the first place?
I want everyone to be treated and included equally in Sweden.
I am a Real People too.
- I believe professionals in Sweden need a voice; a unique voice that understands their biggest concerns. And also, when things go wrong, professionals need to have a go-to place to seek support within legal bounds.
I am a testimony of how Real People gave me this support during my kompetensutvisning. I have made good colleagues and friends through interacting with Real People. It is a privilege for me to be a part of such an amazing group of people who offer support.
I believe it is important for a professional to always know that "You are not alone", and thats what Real People is all about.
